XIII INTERNATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL “SAMOTSVETY”

On September 24, 2019 XIII International Folk Festival “Samotsvety” was held in Kursk State Philharmonia. 16 on-stage performance groups from Belgorod, Voronezh, Vladimir, Kursk, Sudzha, Gomel (Belarus), Donetsk (DPR), Luhansk (LPR), Ocnita (Republic of Moldova), Tiraspol (Transnistria) and Khasavyurt (Dagestan) took part in it. Students of the international faculty of Kursk state medical university were also traditionally among the participants.

Group of students from Sri Lanka decently performed at this event once again, having presented a new dance to the audience. Bright costumes and national music allowed nobody to stay indifferent.

Annual International Festival “Samotsvety” is held in order to preserve the folklife culture and bring to light bright and talented ensembles.

The participation in folk events helps foreign students to get acquainted with cultural uniqueness of other countries and also develops tolerant attitude towards representatives of other cultures.
