On June 27, 2022, the delegations of the Embassy of Malaysia in the Russian Federation and the Embassy of the Democratic and Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation visited Kursk State Medical University.

The rector of KSMU, Professor V.A. Lazarenko, made a welcoming speech. He thanked the distinguished guests, for the visit to the university and for the support of the university during the covid period. Viktor Anatolyevich noted the high level of knowledge of applicants from Malaysia and Sri Lanka, as well as the discipline and responsibility of students during their stay in Kursk.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic and Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, Professor Janita A Liyanage, expressed interest in developing cooperation between KSMU and Sri Lankan universities in the field of training specialists in the specialities of Dentistry and Biochemistry as well as the academic exchange of students and teachers. The Ambassador also informed the leadership of KSMU about the simplification of the procedure for concluding international cooperation agreements in Sri Lanka, which will significantly accelerate the discussion of the joint draft agreement.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to the Russian Federation, Date Balachandran Tharman visits Kursk region and KSMU for the first time . The Ambassador noted that among the four accredited universities in Russia, one of them is Kursk State Medical University, which confirms the high level of trust in the training of medical personnel for Malaysia. On behalf of the Malaysian government, the Ministry and on his own behalf, Dato Bala Chandran Tharman thanked Viktor Anatolyevich for organizing the training of students from Malaysia.
The director of the International Medical Institute, Associate Professor M.T. Chahine presented to the guests the results of the work of the Kursk State Medical University in the field of internationalization of medical education.
All those present expressed their confidence in the further development of cooperation and strengthening of friendly relations between the countries.
