On May 26, 2022, at the premises of Kursk State Medical University, the V International Scientific Conference “Student Research Laboratory: results and Prospects” was held, which was attended by more than 250 people from various cities of Russia, as well as the Republic of Belarus, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The plenary session of the conference was held in the auditorium of the Anatomical Theater of KSMU. Welcoming words were addressed to the participants by representatives of the universities-co-organizers of the conference: Vice-Rector for Research and Innovative Development of the KSMU Ministry of Health of Russia, MD, Professor V.A.Lipatov, Director of the International Medical Institute of KSMU, PhD, Associate Professor M.T.Shekhine, Rector of Gomel State Medical University, MD, Associate Professor I.O. Stoma (Republic of Belarus), Director of the Institute of International Education of Harbin Medical University, Professor Yang Libin (PRC), Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of the Tashkent Medical Academy, MD, Associate Professor F.L.Azizova (Republic of Uzbekistan). The conference participants were also welcomed by representatives of the conference partners: K.V.Babaev – Director of the Institute of the Far East of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philology (Moscow), R.E.Shein – Deputy. Chairman of the Board of the Charitable Foundation for the Promotion of Scientific, Social and Educational activities named after St. Luke (Voino-Yasenetsky) (Kislovodsk), O.S.Krygin – Chief Consultant of the Department of Higher Education and Science of the Committee of Education and Science of the Kursk region (Kursk).
The plenary session was dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Institute of International Education of Harbin Medical University, whose staff presented scientific reports in the field of genetics, experimental surgery and pharmacology. A 5th-year student of KSMU Smakhtina A.M. shared the results of research in the field of cardiotoxicity carried out under the guidance of MD, Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Professor Mal G.S. and PhD, Professor of the Department of Pharmacology Artyushkova E.B.
Then 4 symposiums were held in full-time and hybrid format. The participants of the symposium “Topical issues of experimental surgery: the view of youth” at the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy named after prof. A.D.Myasnikov heard reports from IMI students of KSMU, as well as from Harbin Medical University colleagues. The results of experimental studies and analytical work on various specialties were presented: cardiac surgery, X-ray endovascular surgery, neurosurgery, abdominal surgery, obstetrics and gynecology. Each report was actively discussed by the participants, supporting a positive scientific dialogue of young scientists.
The IMI research beginners presented their reports within the framework of the symposium “From the laboratory to the clinic” at the Department of Normal Physiology named after prof.A.V. Zavyalov. The program of these symposiums and the plenary session was implemented entirely in English.
Participants of the Russian-language symposium at the Department of Normal Physiology named after prof.A.V.Zavyalov “Modern aspects of physiology in student research” presented the results of research on the organization of purposeful movements and reactivity of the cardiovascular system.
The symposium “Student Science: from theory to Practice” was held on the basis of the Research Institute of Experimental Medicine and brought together students conducting their research on the bases of the laboratories of the Research Institute of EM, as well as on the basis of the laboratories of the Research Institute of Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology. Young scientists and students from KSMU, Tashkent Medical Academy (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), Belarusian State Medical University (Minsk, Belarus) took part in its work. The reports were devoted to topical issues of experimental and clinical medicine: testing of new hemostatic agents, cellular technologies, methods of correction of osteoporosis, study of cardiotoxicity of antitumor drugs, study of the effect of peptides in various pathologies. The presented results of long-term research of young teachers of KSMU, which they started in the walls of laboratories, contributed to the motivation of students for scientific activity.
The round table “Organization of youth and student science in the Russian Federation and abroad” discussed the prospects and current problems of the development of student and youth science in Russia and abroad, forms of organization of student and youth scientific associations.
A constructive discussion of the prospects for expanding the research activities of students of the SPO on the basis of the scientific sites of KSMU and the integration of research and development of college students with the scientific system of the university took place at the round table “Organization of experimental activities of students of the medical and pharmaceutical college on the scientific sites of the University”
Within the framework of the conference, a master class was held, at which the results of the project work were presented. activities of students of the KSMU Pre-University.
The participants and guests of the conference noted the high level of its organization and the timeliness of its holding in the context of the formation of a new Russian system of education and science.
