A meeting of the student activists of Kursk State Medical University with the leadership, as well as representatives of the Public Youth Chamber at the Kursk Regional Duma took place in the pharmaceutical building of KSMU.
The forum participants discussed the issues of interaction of our university’s assets with the youth parliament, and also learned about the procedure of forming the composition of the Youth Chamber and the possibility of getting into its next convocation. The chairman of the Public Youth Chamber at the Kursk Regional Duma, Alina Shevyakina, at the beginning of the meeting, informed about the events and projects that the Youth Chamber conducts and implements. This includes participation in meetings of the Kursk Regional Duma and assistance in the development of legislative initiatives concerning youth, and projects such as “Big Story” and the the documentary film “The Unknown Soldier” based on it. This includes holding charity events in boarding schools in the Kursk region.
The leader of the Public Youth Chamber also spoke about the procedure for recruiting new representatives to the parliament. Usually it was carried out by delegation, that is, the university had to provide two or three representatives at the discretion of the management and the student asset. But at the moment, a new procedure for forming the composition of the Youth Chamber is being developed, which the regional Duma will consider in June. According to this procedure, one delegate will be accepted from the educational institution, and the rest who wish can get into the Public Youth Chamber through competitive selection. Representatives of the student activists of KSMU became interested in the conditions of admission to parliament, asked their questions and received answers to them. And Hilko Polina, the chairman of the commission of the Youth Parliament for work with the Standing Committee on Social, Family Policy and Healthcare, a resident of KSMU, told about the main directions of the parliament’s work and shared her experience of the possibility of combining studies at a medical university with social activities.
