More than 180 people participated in this event. Students of Kursk State Medical University and medical students from Yerevan, Moscow, Kemerovo, Voronezh made presentations and published abstracts in the conference proceedings.
The Vice-Rector for Educational Activities and General Issues of the KSMU of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, MD, Associate Professor V.P. Gavrilyuk, Head of the Department of Youth Policy, Physical Culture and Sports of the city of Kursk I.A. Kolyshev and Head of the Department of Pharmacology of the KSMU of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, MD, Professor G.S. Mal addressed the participants with welcoming words.
The plenary session moderated by the Head of the Department of Physical Culture, Candidate of Psychology, Associate Professor, T.V. Neduruyeva; MD, Professor of the Department of Pharmacology T.A. Denisyuk; teacher of the Department of Physical Culture E.A. Bobrovsky was devoted to topics on the organization and functioning of the anti-doping service of Russia, the goals and tasks of the fight against doping in sports, and also examined in detail the drugs banned in sports and their permitted analogues.
Two breakout sessions were held during the conference. The participants touched upon topical pharmacological aspects of the use of prohibited drugs, as well as physiological, socio-psychological and moral problems of doping in the life of an athlete.The speakers actively answered the questions of the conference participants and the feature of the work sections was an interdisciplinary approach to the topic of combating doping for the “purity of sports achievements” by informing athletes about the consequences of the use of prohibited drugs on the body and future sports career.
All those present highly appreciated the professionalism and organization of the conference, and also expressed a wish for the annual nature of such events due to the urgency of the problem.
