On June 30, 2022, a solemn meeting was held at Kursk State Medical University, dedicated to the 52nd graduation of pharmacists, the 8th graduation of bachelors in Biotechnology, the 1st graduation of masters in the following areas of training: “Industrial Pharmacy” and “Biotechnology”.

The solemn meeting was opened by the Rector of KSMU, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Excellent Healthcare Worker of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Surgery of the Institute of Continuing Education, Deputy of the Kursk Regional Duma of the VII convocation, Honorary Citizen of Kursk V.A. Lazarenko. The solemn meeting was attended by: First Deputy Chairman of Healthcare Committee of the Kursk Region E.E. Gorivodsky; Vice-Rector for Educational Activity and General Affairs, Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatrics of the Institute of Continuing Education, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor V.P. Gavrilyuk; Vice-Rector for Educational Work, Social Development and Public Relations, Head of the Department of Health Psychology and Neuropsychology, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor A.A. Kuznetsova; Dean of the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Faculties, Doctor of Pharmacy, Professor of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Botany I.L. Drozdova, vice-deans and heads of graduating departments.

The rector of KSMU, Professor V.A. Lazarenko, addressed the graduates with a welcoming speech. He emphasized the historical traditions of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology faculties, importance and prestige of the profession, demand of pharmacists and biotechnologists, especially during the fight against the pandemic, noted the achievements of our graduates and wished them success in their professional activity.

Higher education diplomas in the field of priority areas of modernization and technological development of the Russian economy were received by 54 pharmacists (including 16 with honors), 18 bachelors in Biotechnology (including 2 with honors), 1 master in Industrial Pharmacy (diploma with honors) and 6 masters in Biotechnology (including 5 with honors).

Among our graduates are:

– Scholars of the President of the Russian Federation (in specialties or areas of training corresponding to the priority areas of modernization and technological development of the Russian economy) – Evgenia Zatolokina, Anna Meshkova;

– Scholars of the Government of the Russian Federation (in specialties or areas of training corresponding to the priority areas of modernization and technological development of the Russian economy) – Irina Vorontsova, Ekaterina Ryazantseva, Sofia Simakova, Tatiana Yudakova.

– The winners of the II Student Interuniversity Pharmaceutical Festival (FARMFEST) “Modern Pharmaceutical Enterprise – New Opportunities” – Anna Meshkova, Ekaterina Antsiferova;

– Winners of the contest for the best study group of KSMU (4th group of the 5th year of the Faculty of Pharmacy – 3rd place).

First Deputy Chairman of Healthcare Committee of the Kursk Region E.E. Gorivodsky, Dean of the Faculties, Professor of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Botany I.L. Drozdova, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering Professor T.A. Pankrusheva, Head of the Department of Biological and Chemical Technology Professor L.P. Lazurina addressed the graduates and their parents with congratulations and good wishes.

The best graduates, who showed excellent knowledge, success in student science, who made a great contribution to the formation of the image of KSMU, were actively engaged in sports sections, numerous creative teams and represented our university at competitions, festivals, Olympiads and contests of various levels, as well as working during the pandemic in practical healthcare (“hotline” of OAO Kursk Pharmacy, formation, distribution and delivery of medicines to COVID- outpatients in Kursk) were awarded Diplomas and Honorary Certificates from the Rectorate, Student Scientific Circle, sports club, Center for Creative Development and Additional Education.

Touching words of congratulation from freshmen and also a traditional musical gift (the song “Dorogoyu Dobra” (The Way of Goodness)) prepared by students of KSMU sounded.

The graduates responded with words of gratitude. They thanked the administration of KSMU represented by Rector Professor V.A. Lazarenko, all teachers and staff of the faculties for the knowledge gained, for the comfortable conditions of study, the opportunity provided to engage not only in studies, but also in student science, sports, creativity, social activities. The graduates presented their dearly beloved Alma mater paintings dedicated to the history of medical education for a keepsake. At the end of the meeting, an unusually solemn and beautiful Anthem of KSMU sounded.
