On February 10, 2022, at the initiative of the Student Council for Interethnic and Interfaith Issues and the IMI International Health Club, a round table “Life Without Drugs and Extremism” was held in a hybrid format for students of the International Medical Institute of KSMU studying in Russian.

The meeting was attended by:

1. Special Case Lead Investigator of the Department for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kursk Region Lobova O.A.

2. Lead Investigator of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kursk Region Matyukhina N.N.

3. Director of the International Medical Institute Chahine Mohamad Toufic and other IMI staff.

At the round table “Life Without Drugs and Extremism”, foreign students were explained the basics of the legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of distribution, storage and use of narcotic substances and the main provisions of the Federal Laws of the Russian Federation “On Countering Terrorism” and “On Countering Extremist Activity”.

During the meeting, foreign students watched films where specific illegal acts were highlighted in detail and responsibility for such offenses was explained.

The round table “Life Without Drugs and Extremism” is aimed at improving the information literacy of foreign students, preventing drug addiction and spread of narcotic drugs, forming negative attitudes among students towards extremist manifestations, developing young people’s skills to demonstrate willpower and making their own decisions, ensuring the safety of KSMU foreign students.

The Student Council for Interethnic and Interfaith Issues and members of the IMI International Health Club decided to hold a round table “Life Without Drugs and Extremism” for foreign students in English until February 18, 2022.
