By Presidental Decree of the Russian Federation dated April 18, 2022 No. 212 “On awarding the national prizes of the Russian Federation” Rector of KSMU Professor V.A. Lazarenko was awarded the honorary title “Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation”.
Professor V.A. Lazarenko made a significant contribution to the development of priority areas of science.He was the first to present a new approach to predicting stenotic occlusions of the arterial reconstruction zone, to study the anti-adhesive effectiveness of methylcellulose gels and carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt, to justify the industrial production of Mesogel, to develop and implement techniques and software based on neural network technologies designed for a comprehensive assessment of the role of various risk factors in the development of diseases of the hepatopancreatoduodenal zone.
V.A. Lazarenko formed the Kursk Phlebological School, contributed to the development of new directions of the Kursk Herniological school.
Professor V.A. Lazarenko is the author of 3 discoveries in the field of biology and medicine, more than 900 printed works have been published under his authorship, 102 copyright certificates and patents for inventions and utility models have been obtained, 13 certificates of registration of a computer program. Under the guidance of Professor V.A. Lazarenko, 29 dissertations were prepared and defended, including 7 dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences.
Thanks to the active work of Viktor Anatolyevich, the university has a research center with an experimental biological clinic, four research institutes, a Central Scientific Council and expert councils of surgical, therapeutic, biomedical, pharmaceutical, biotechnological and humanitarian specialties, a student scientific society and a council of young scientists.
Under the guidance of Professor V.A. Lazarenko, the University carries out joint scientific research with foreign scientists of the Austrian Institute of Advanced Training, Vitebsk State Medical University, Gomel State Medical University, Pridnestrovian State University, Cyprus Veresies Clinic, Harbin Medical University, universities of Uzbekistan.
Professor V.A. Lazarenko is the editor-in-chief of the journal “Kursk Scientific and Practical Bulletin “Man and his health”, the electronic scientific journal “INNOVA”, a member of the editorial board of the journal “Clinical and Experimental Surgery”, a member of the editorial Board of the scientific and practical journal of Gomel State Medical University “Problems of health and ecology”, heads the Scientific and the Practical society of Surgeons of the Kursk region, directs the work of the dissertation council.
