Dear colleagues!
Patient safety is a fundamental principle of medical care provision, so on May 25, 2019, the World Health Assembly adopted WHA72.6 resolution “Global Action for Ensuring Patient Safety”, thereby declaring September 17 as World Patient Safety Day.
The goal of World Patient Safety Day is to raise global awareness of patient safety and promote international solidarity in actions aimed at improving safety and reducing harm for patients around the world, both in the professional community and the patients themselves, their relatives and various organizations representing the interests of patients.
On September 17, 2022, the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia together with the Federal Service for Supervision of Healthcare in Russia planned events dedicated to the World Patient Safety Day in 2022.
Within the framework of the World Patient Safety Day in the Russian Federation in 2022, the following events are planned:
– Quality Leader in Healthcare all-Russian competition (https://mk.mediexpo.ru/konkurs/)
– All-Russian Olympiad on Safety in Healthcare (http://nqi-russia.ru/events/vsemirnyy-den-bezopasnosti-2022/vserossiyskaya-olimpiada-po-bezopasnosti-v-zdravookhranenii.php)
– Interactive survey of patients and healthcare professionals on topical safety issues:
1. for medical workers (https://www.dpo.rudn.ru/special/med-test-opros-2022/rabotniky/);
2. for patients (https://www.dpo.rudn.ru/special/med-test-opros-2022/pazienty/).
– All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference “International and Russian Experience in Ensuring Drug Safety” (http://nqi-russia.ru/events/vsemirnyy-den-bezopasnosti-2022/mezhdunarodnyy-i-rossiyskiy-opyt-obespecheniya-lekarstvennoy-bezopasnosti.php).
Within the framework of the World Patient Safety Day, a lecture by the head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Healthcare A.V. Samoilova is planned for students of medical and pharmaceutical faculties. The lecture is devoted to the safe use of medical drugs and will be held on September 16 at 11:00am Moscow time at the premises of Volgograd State Medical University with remote connection.
