The delegation of Kursk State Medical University took part in the interregional scientific and practical conference “Current Issues of Specialized Surgical Care”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Professor Victor Ivanovich Bulynin, which was held in Voronezh.

Professor V.I. Bulynin is one of the founders of Voronezh cardiac surgery, microsurgery, organizer of the kidney transplantation service and preparation of the liver transplantation program. The Voronezh Surgical Scientific School, created by Viktor Ivanovich, develops today in the works of plenty of his pupils. The Voronezh Regional Clinical Hospital No. 1 Cardiac Surgery Center is one of the leading centers for the provision of high-tech medical care to patients with cardiovascular diseases. It is headed by one of the students of V.I. Bulynin, Professor S.A. Kovalev, Head of the Department of Specialized Surgical Disciplines of FSBEI HE Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

The conference participants were greeted by the Chief Surgeon of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Director of the National Medical Research Center for Surgery named after A.V. Vishnevsky of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Professor A.Sh. Revishvili.

Within the framework of the conference, the first sectional day was held on October 13 at Voronezh Regional Clinical Hospital No.1 and was devoted to modern aspects of cardiovascular surgery. During the conference, topical issues of surgical treatment of acute dissections of the aneurysms of the ascending and arch of the aorta, endovascular treatment of chronic CHD and the search for a balance between intervention and sparing surgery, minimization of risks in coronary surgery, surgical treatment of chronic heart failure, assistance with gunshot wounds of the heart, modern approaches to the combined treatment of atrial fibrillation and structural heart damage, anti-arrhythmic devices in the treatment of chronic heart failure, new achievements in aortic surgery and brachiocephalic perforators were considered.

Revishvili, Chief Specialist of the Ministry of Health of Russia for X-ray Endovascular Diagnostics and Treatment Professor B.G. Alekyan, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Chief Cardiac Surgeon of St. Petersburg and the North-Western District of the Russian Federation Professor G.G. Hubulava, Chief Cardiovascular Surgeon of the Central Federal District Professor S.A. Kovalev, Professor Yu.A. Schneider (Chief Physician of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Federal Center for High Medical Technologies of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Kaliningrad), Professor A.N. Lishchuk (Head of the Center for Cardiac Surgery of Federal State Budgetary Institution “Central Military Clinical Hospital No.3 named after A.A. Vishnevsky” of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, Moscow), Professor V.A. Popov (FSBI National Medical Research Center for Surgery named after A.V. Vishnevsky of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow).

At the conference, reports on historical perspective of surgical treatment of coronary heart disease, main stages of the development of Voronezh cardiovascular surgery and the invaluable contribution of its founder Professor V.I. Bulynin were presented. As Professor S.A. Kovalev said in the interview: “It is important for us to pass this thread of memory not only to those people who are here today, but also to our young doctors, postgraduate students, residents and scientists, so that they understand what the foundations of our medical education are, and that in order to fly to the top of the surgical Everest, it is necessary to work hard and know a lot.”

The conference gave an opportunity to participate in the discussion of modern methods of diagnosis and surgical treatment of patients with cardiovascular pathology, main scientific trends in accordance with modern clinical recommendations, which will contribute to improving the quality of medical care.
