On October 26, 2023, the first meeting of the rector of KSMU, Prof. V.A. Lazarenko, with first-year students of the International Medical Institute at a KSMU took place in the format of an “Open Dialogue.”
The meeting was attended by: vice-rector for educational activities and general issues, assoc. prof. V.P. Gavrilyuk, vice-rector for medical activities and regional healthcare development, Professor S.P. Pakhomov, vice-rector for scientific work and innovation development, Prof. V.A. Lipatov, vice-rector for educational work, social development, and public relations, assoc. prof. A.A. Kuznetsova, director IMI KSMU, assoc. prof. M.T. Chahine, director of the student city O.V. Azarova, employees of IMI KSMU, representatives of student councils, leaders of communities of foreign students, and 350 first-year students of the International Medical Institute at KSMU.
The main topic of the meeting was the possibilities of self-realization for the youth and addressing issues that concern students. Newly enrolled students, who were recently schoolchildren far from Russia, have entered a new period of their lives – independent, responsible, and opening up opportunities for self-realization in science, sports, and creativity in new environment.
Prof. Lazarenko started the conversation, where each student can ask questions directly to the rector and expect detailed and honest answers.
Questions touched upon almost all aspects of student life: research, accommodation, the necessity of passing medical examinations, the work of the University Clinic, the necessity of attending lectures and the deadlines for resolving academic debt, and engaging in creativity at KSMU, and others.
The collective of community leaders and students thank the rector of KSMU, Prof. Lazarenko, for his openness to students and the opportunity for prompt joint resolution of arising issues.
