“Welcome to Kursk State Medical University! We will be glad to help you become part of the big university family,” – with these words the leaders of the international student associations of KSMU addressed the newly arrived students during their meeting. The Student Council of International Associations of KSMU warmly and with special care greets their fellow countrymen on Kursk soil every year, providing them with all possible support together with the staff and faculty of the International Medical Institute of KSMU. In September 2025, more than 200 new students arrived at the university from Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, countries of the African continent, and other parts of the world. Usually, such meetings have an official character: new students are introduced to the association leaders, informed about opportunities for study and personal development at KSMU. At the same time, entertaining quizzes in a Q&A format are held for international newcomers, answering all kinds of questions about life in Russia—from everyday arrangements to the rules of submitting and processing migration documents. These initiatives always take place in a positive, friendly atmosphere, and at the end of the event, everyone happily takes a group photo to mark the beginning of their studies at KSMU, wishing each other an exciting student life and good grades. It is encouraging to know that every student, upon arriving in Russia and still missing their family, feels surrounded by warmth and care, and immediately becomes part of our big and friendly KSMU family.
