On April 26 the Day of Malaysian Culture “Colorful Multiculture of Malaysia 24” took place in Kursk State Medical University. A.A. Kuznetsova – pro-rector on educational work, social development and public relations, staff and more than 500 students of KSMU took part in the opening ceremony held in the assembly hall of the pharmaceutical building of KSMU.

Malaysians prepared an interesting program, which introduced the guests to the culture of Malaysia and regional differences between the inhabitants of this southern island country. The organizers of the event were the Compatriotic Society of Students of Malaysia KSMU in cooperation with the International Medical Institute of KSMU.

The purpose of the event is to show the talents of Malaysian students and promote cultural development of relations between Malaysians and students from different countries. The theme of the event is: “Chitravarnah Malaysia”, which translates as “The Colorful Multiculture of Malaysia”. The concept for the event was inspired by one of the ancient forms of storytelling practiced in Malaysia – shadow puppetry, with a theme of mysticism, mystery and magic. Performers showed traditional music, stunning costumes and exciting dances. The performances demonstrated a common cultural code in the diversity of races and ethnicities in Malaysia.
