Time and again Kursk Medical University has worthily joined the international impact rating THE IMPACT RANKING 2022.
The rating methodology consists in a qualitative assessment of the university’s involvement in the development and maintenance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at different levels of influence. The ranking offers universities 17 SDGs: 1: Poverty eradication; 2: Hunger eradication; 3: Healthy lifestyle and well-being; 4: Quality education; 5: Gender equality; 6: Clean water and sanitation; 7: Available and environmentally friendly energy; 8: Decent work and economic growth; 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure; 10: Reducing inequality; 11: Sustainable cities and human settlements; 12: Rational consumption and production; 13: Measures to combat climate change; 14: Underwater life; 15: Life on land; 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions; 17: Partnerships for Sustainable Development.
The Times Higher Education Impact Rating is the only global performance rating that evaluates universities in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals proclaimed by the United Nations. THE uses carefully calibrated metrics to provide a comprehensive and balanced comparison of universities by four broad areas: research, leadership, advocacy, and teaching.
In 2022, KSMU took part and showed good results in 7 nominations:
place 601+ out of 769 universities in the world – SDG 1 Poverty Eradication;
place 101-200 out of 1101 universities in the world – SDG 3 Healthy lifestyle and well-being;
place 601-800 out of 1180 universities in the world – SDG 4 Quality education;
Place 401-600 out of 938 universities in the world – SDG 5 Gender Equality;
Place 401-600 out of 849 universities in the world – SDG 8 Decent work and economic growth;
Ranked 1001+ out of 1,438 universities in the world – SDG 17 Partnership for Sustainable Development.
Kursk Medical University won:
1st place in the region.
2nd place among medical universities of Russia in the overall standings;
20th place among all Russian universities in the overall standings.
