According to the results of the Moscow International Ranking of Universities “Three Missions of the University” in 2021, Kursk State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation:
– entered the 1501-1650 interval group in the world ranking;
– entered the 87-112 interval group among Russian universities.
The Moscow International University Ranking is a fundamentally new academic ranking, which for the first time evaluates all three key missions of the university: education, science and interaction with society. The rating methodology went through a large-scale public discussion, which was attended by over 100 universities.
The “Three University Missions” rating marked the beginning of a turn of global rankings towards assessing the university significance for society, the “third mission”, which had previously remained out of sight of rating agencies. Due to its fundamental novelty, MosIUR was highly praised by experts.
Exclusively objective criteria approved by international experts were used for the rating; reputation polls are completely excluded. At the same time, the range of information sources for the rating is much wider than those traditionally used in existing popular ratings. The sources of information were open data from the official websites of universities and national authorities, as well as data from independent international sources: Clarivate Analytics (provider of data and metrics from InCites and the Global Institutional Profiles Project (GIPP)); leading online platforms for mass education; public multilingual universal encyclopedia “Wikipedia”; search engines Google, Yandex, Baidu; social networks Facebook, Twitter, VK, Sina Weibo; Alexa company, one of the world leaders in web analytics; websites of international student olympiads; scientific awards websites from the IREG List of International Academic Awards.
In 2021, the number of universities represented in the global ranking “Three University Missions” increased from 1,500 to 1,650. According to this parameter, this rating is the most representative in the world. The list of the best includes universities from 97 countries of the world, including 112 Russian universities.
