Last week, an enlarged meeting of the board of the Ministry of Health of Russia was held. Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko determined protection of motherhood and childhood as one of the main tasks for the forum.

Rector of KSMU Professor Viktor Anatolyevich Lazarenko commented on how these issues are resolved at Kursk State Medical University within the framework of the Demography and Healthcare national projects:

– Kursk State Medical University conducts a permanent dynamic monitoring of key indicators of the Healthcare and Demography national projects, the results of which are regularly reported at meetings of the Medical Council for clinical departments, which is used both in the educational process and organization of consultative medical care in the future.

Infant mortality rate in the Kursk region has been below the target numbers of the Children Healthcare Development regional project during the entire period of the implementation of the Healthcare national project. Thus, in 2021, the target was 5.1 per thousand births, and by fact 3.7 per thousand births, which is significantly lower than the planned figure. In 2022, according to the operational data of Russian Statistics Agency for August, this month the number is 3.8 per thousand and the target is 4.8 per thousand births, that is, to date, the achievement of the target numbers has been noted. In 2021, there were no maternal deaths in Kursk region. Such a high indicator was achieved due to the introduction of a 3-level system of medical care during pregnancy and childbirth.

At all clinical departments of KSMU, clinical recommendations are actively used in the educational process in the system of pre-graduate and postgraduate training of doctors.

Employees of clinical departments of the University regularly participate in clinical reviews of all infant mortality cases. In the Federal Accreditation Center of KSMU, doctors and residents of Pediatric specialty are regularly trained in neonatology and resuscitation.

Volunteers of KSMU implement the School of Motherhood social project, with the aim of raising awareness among expectant mothers about healthy lifestyle, as well as preventing complications during pregnancy.

In order to implement the regional project “Creation of a Single Digital Circuit in Healthcare” of the Kursk region, 3 additional professional advanced training programs were created and approved at KSMU: “Information Technologies and Digital System in Healthcare” (for doctors, 36 hours), “Organizational and Legal Aspects of the Introduction of Information Technologies and Systems in Healthcare” (36 hours) and “Information Technologies and Digital Systems in Healthcare” (for scientific pedagogical workers, 18 hours).

Start of training observers within these cycles is planned for December 2022. These programs are intended for training doctors to work with medical information systems installed in medical organizations of the Kursk region.
