On 11-12 April at the Department of Russian Language and Pedagogy of KSMU the final round of the annual International Interuniversity Online Olympiad in Russian as a Foreign Language took place.

This year the Olympiad was called “Everything begins with family” and was dedicated to the Year of Family in Russia.

Students from universities of Russia, Uzbekistan and Belarus took part in the Olympiad. These were representatives of Iran, Israel, South Africa, Egypt, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Malaysia.

Universities who participated in the Olympiad: Grodno State Medical University, Orenburg State Medical University, Belarusian State Medical University, Saratov State Medical University named after V.I. Razumovsky, Kursk State Medical University, Kursk State University, Academic Lyceum №2 at Urgench State University named after Al-Khwarizmi, Volgograd State Medical University, Ivanovo State Medical University.

31 participants became finalists. The final round consisted of online presentations with presentation projects on the topic “My Family Album”.The participants were divided into two sections: 1 – who study in English and 2 – in Russian. The first section meeting was held in two days (due to the large number of finalists).
The topics of the students’ projects are diverse and interesting: “Historical roots of my family: past and present”, “The whole family together, so the soul is in place”, “Family is the most precious thing a person has”, “Life of my family in modern society”, “Moments of life frozen on the photo”, “Life is beautiful with family”, “Family is WE!”.

In each subgroup the winners were determined, among which were students of the International Medical Institute of KSMU Mulik Harsh (3rd year) – took the first place, Du Plesis Dylan Andre (3rd year) – the 2nd place.

All participants and supervisors-mentors will receive diplomas and certificates. Congratulations to the winners!
