The closing ceremony of the Surgical Skills Olympiad for International Medical Students by Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics took place on June 5, 2024, at Kursk State Medical University, Certificates of the winners are handed over to students by Director of International Medical Institute, KSMU, Associate Professor, Mohamad Toufic Chahine., marking a significant milestone in the students educational journey and celebrating their achievements in surgical proficiency.
Under the supervision of Associate Professor from Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics Rajkumar Densingh Samuel Raj, students from different years of the Internatinal Medical Institute, KSMU have been training weekly in surgical skills such as skin suturing and the repair of the Achilles tendon. These training sessions, held every Thursday, have equipped students with practical expertise, enabling them to excel in their field.
The effectiveness of this training was recently demonstrated when students participated in a section focused on the repair of the Achilles tendon using the CLC suture technique during “Intra-university student olympiad in surgery named after A.D. Myasnikov” held from 13 – 17 May 2024 in Kursk State Medical University. The students exceptional performance earned them first and second places in this Olympiad.
