February 18, 2023 in the ski base of the sports school “Arena” on Park Solyanka held the Governor’s Cup of the Kursk region on ski racing dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk.

There were about 1000 people at the start. The long-awaited race with Russian sports stars Ivan Cherezov, Dmitry Malyshko, and Alexei Petukhov was also held.

The ski race was opened by Roman Starovoit, Governor of Kursk Oblast, who noted that “In any situation you need to do sports, because sports is health, health is strength, and strength means victory. No matter where we are engaged in creative work or defense of our Homeland, we definitely need power. Dear friends, happy holidays!”

Students and employees of KSMU traditionally take part in the Governor’s Cup in ski racing.

This year our university was represented by students of athletics and ski racing national team, members of SSC “Alternativa”, professors of KSMU. Our medical volunteers and volunteers of the “Sport medical care” volunteer group participated in the accompaniment of the event.

According to the results of the race, the 20 strongest women on the distance of 10 km. (2004 year of birth and older) included representatives of our university:

Kharchenko A.V. – assistant of the department of pathological anatomy;

Sokolova A.S. – a student of clinical psychology;

Shebanitz E.V. and Niskova V.A. are students of the Medical Faculty! Congratulations to our professors and students!
