Dear staff and students!
June 8 is the Day of the Social Worker in Russia.
I heartily congratulate everyone involved in this field on a professional holiday!
Your profession is designed to bring kindness and mercy into people’s lives. The work to which you give all your strength requires a conscientious attitude, nobility of soul, great patience and the ability to empathize. It is your participation and support that gives people confidence in the future, saves them from loneliness, gives them strength to overcome difficult life situations.
Kursk State Medical University was one of the first medical universities in the country to open the Faculty of Social Work in 1991.
The purpose of the educational program was the formation of competitive, highly educated specialists with a principled civic position and high moral qualities.
At present the educational program in the direction of “Social work” has a training profile “Social work with persons with disabilities” (since 2015).
The high quality of training is confirmed by the success of our students in All-Russian Olympiads and various interuniversity competitions and programs. Every year, students trained by our teachers actively participate in the All-Russian Student Olympiad on Social Work, in the competition of social projects “Youth. The science. Innovations”, the Regional competition of scientific papers and scientifically based projects on the problems of youth, family and demographic policy.
Graduates of the faculty have proved their professional competence, the demand for social and medical and social protection of the population. The employment of graduates of the faculty in the specialty is more than 90%. They work in medical and social, psychological and pedagogical, rehabilitation centers, employment services and social support centers for young people of Kursk, other regions, government agencies, teachers at KSMU and other universities!
I want to wish everyone: those who are still studying and those who are just taking the first steps and those who have been following this professional path for many years, inexhaustible vitality and optimism, good health and peace of mind, joy and satisfaction from their work! Our world is based on people who are able to feel someone else’s pain! Happiness, health and well-being to you and your families!
