On November 18, our university hosted a real student holiday – the International Student Day. A gala concert of the creativity festival “Look Who’s Here – 2022” was held in the assembly hall of KSMU.
The rector of KSMU professor V.A. Lazarenko opened the event and congratulated the participants on the holiday. On that holiday, on a scene of the assembly hall, Victor Anatolyevich and vice-rectors of our university handed over cherished diplomas of the festival – competition of freshmen! During 2 days of the festival, 1st year students pleased us with spectacular bright performances and their talents.
Thus, diplomas of the 3rd degree laureates were received by teams of the Faculties of Pharmacy and Biotechnology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work and Economics and Management. The team of the Faculty of Paediatrics received the diploma of the 2nd degree laureate. The first-year students of MFC teams of KSMU and the national team of dental and medical-preventive faculties became the 1st degree laureates of the festival!
The Grand Prix of the festival and the Cup of the Rector of KSMU were received by the students of the team of medical faculty! As the real stars of the stage, our wonderful talented freshmen were photographed together with the university administration, holding the long-awaited diplomas. Now the Cup of the Rector of KSMU of the festival “Look Who’s Here” will be stored at the dean’s office of the Faculty of Medicine until the start of a new academic year.
At the gala concert, the audience, students, deans, teachers saw the brightest and most memorable numbers of first-year students. Groups of the Center for Creative Development and Additional Education performed on the stage. The beautiful drummers of KSMU from the “Rhythm of the Heart” ensemble marched in the updated lineup. The folk group of amateur artistic creativity “Folk Dance Ensemble “Yablonka” presented a bright dance “Cossack Dance” to the audience. A beautiful couple – Daria Medvedeva and Yegor Izvekov – impressed the audience with the touching dance “Random Waltz”.
That evening, the audience was also surprised by our wonderful vocalists — Anastasia Zvyagina performed the much-loved composition “Wind of Change”, the duo of vocalists from the ensemble of the pop song “Harmony” – Ekaterina Mazalova and Vladislav Sholokhov emotionally performed the composition “To the Limit”.
The creative numbers alternated with the awarding of diplomas of the Look Who’s Here festival in the nominations of vocal, choreography, compering, fine arts and original genre, music. Our tutors and senior students who helped freshmen at rehearsals, supported their most incredible ideas and dreams for 2 months, were awarded diplomas in a separate nomination for active participation in the implementation of the festival. Together guys spent more than 100 hours of rehearsals!
And members of ensembles and studios of the center of creative development continued to please the audience with their creativity. The lively dance “Dream dance” was performed by students of the ballroom dance ensemble of KSMU “Rhythm”. As always, the largest and famous creative team of the university pleasantly surprised the audience. The folk group of amateur artistic creativity Gaudeamus Academic Choir performed “Looking at the Blue Lakes” a capella.
On that festive day, students of the International Medical Institute of KSMU were happy to share their creativity. They are active participants of university, city and regional cultural events and competitions. Our university is one of the leading in the country in terms of the number of foreign students. Every year, the university hosts concerts of national cultures of India, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Malaysia. At the festive concert, the audience saw the Malaysian folk dance. And Alahakoon Keynula, who performed the famous song of F. Sinatra “I’m feeling good”, simply conquered the hearts of everyone present in the hall. Student from Sri Lanka, Alahakoon Keynula, within the framework of the gala concert, was awarded a special diploma in the nomination “Discovery of the International Medical Institute”!
The festive gala concert ended traditionally with the performance of the Anthem of Kursk State Medical University. This beautiful evening confirmed once again that our university is an institution with rich long-standing traditions, bright creative and the best students, of which we are rightfully proud!
