On August 31, 2020 the Cricket Cup of Sri Lankan Embassy was competed for at the sports ground of the school No.59. The competition was held at the initiative of the International medical institute administration of KSMU.
Sports teams from Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Tver, around 40 foreign sportsmen in total, took part in the event. Kursk state medical university was represented by the team of students from Sri Lanka.
The competitions were going on for the whole day, and the awarding was held in the evening. The students from KSMU team became the winners. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation, Mr. M. D. Lamawansa, paying a visit in Kursk those days, awarded the winners with the cup.
