I congratulate you on International Students’ Day, a day of solidarity and unity among the student youth!

This holiday is celebrated on November 17. Today, it is associated with youth, romance, and joy. However, its history is linked to the tragic events at the beginning of World War II: the date is established in memory of the solidarity of Czech students.

Today, Students’ Day is celebrated in many countries around the world.

Student years are a time for acquiring initial professional knowledge and practical skills. The foundations for the future professional successes of upcoming specialists are laid during their time at university. The knowledge gained at our university will allow all graduates to feel like happy individuals, needed by society! But everyone must remember that much depends on the individual; a life full of interest will only be achieved by those who take responsibility for themselves.

Medical students are a special category because they have chosen a profession of kindness and patience. Compassion and care for every patient must live in the heart of every doctor.

Students of Kursk State Medical University have achieved great heights in their studies, science, sports, and public life. They are proactive, energetic, and talented. Their civic and life positions are formed at the university.

I wish each student good studies, health, and great happiness! May everyone have strength of spirit and confidence in their abilities! I believe that the future of our domestic medicine is in reliable hands!

V. A. Lazarenko, Rector of KSMU, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Deputy of the Kursk Regional Duma of the VII convocation, Honorary Citizen of Kursk.
