On October 29, 2022, a concert prepared by foreign students for the 200th anniversary of the independence of Brazil, was held at KSMU. The festival was timed to coincide with the visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Russian Federation Rodrigo De Lima Baena Soares.

In 2008, the first Brazilian citizens became students of our university. To date, more than 160 students from Brazil are studying at KSMU, and over the entire period of training foreign citizens, KSMU has prepared more than 400 specialists for this country.

The concert began with the traditional performance of the anthems of Brazil and Russia, emphasizing friendly relations between states that have a centuries-old history.

Rector of KSMU Professor V.A. Lazarenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Russian Federation Mr. Rodrigo De Lima Baena Soares welcomed the guests, wished them to have a good rest and enjoy the holiday. The event was also attended by: Secretary of the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in the Russian Federation Jean-Pierre Bianca, Vice-Rector for Medical Activity and Continuing Education – Director of the Institute of Continuing Education, Associate Professor N.S. Meshcherina, Vice-Rector for Educational Work, Social Development and Public Relations, Associate Professor A.A. Kuznetsova, Director of IMI, Associate Professor M.T. Chahine, employees and students of KSMU from different countries.

Brazilian students provided a unique opportunity for the guests to get acquainted with the history of their country. Not only by students from Brazil, but also students from Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, South Africa and Nigeria performed on the stage. Colorful national costumes and dances caused stormy emotions of the hall. The atmosphere of the festival was imbued with a special solemnity, emphasizing the importance of unity on this day.
