Within the adaptation program for foreign students of the International Medical Institute of KSMU a fascinating walk around the center of Kursk was organized. This event allowed students to know better the city where they study and to get acquainted with its history, culture and traditions.

The walk began with an introduction the main sights of the center: Red Square, Znamensky Cathedral, Pervomaysky Park and the Museum of Regional Studies. The students saw the monuments located in the center of Kursk: monuments to Alexander Nevsky, A.S. Pushkin, composer G.V. Sviridov, writer K.D. Vorobyov and others. The students learned a lot about the city, its history and culture, got acquainted with the architectural sights of the central streets of the city, in addition, special attention was paid to the library named after Aseev, the stadium “Labor Reserves”.

An important part of the event was the students’ interaction with local residents. They met the people who live in the city and learned more about their culture. The students were able to ask questions about the town and  people answered them..

We hope that this walk helped the international students to understand the city better, and to feel a part of it.
