On the 15th of April in KSMU the regular Academic Council was held, the agenda of which traditionally included the key issues of the university activity.
Before considering the planned reports, the members of the Academic Council were announced an impressive list of recent victories and achievements of the students of the university, as well as – the commendations received by the Rector and staff of KSMU for March and April of this year.

Among achievements – the first place in XIII open public All-Russian competition of educational organisations of higher education of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on a title “Higher education institution of a healthy way of life” with participation of Association “Council of Rectors of medical and pharmaceutical higher educational institutions”, the 1st place on table tennis, the 2nd place on volleyball (girls) and the 2nd place in educational all-round competition, GTO on III stage of IX Festival of sports “Physical training and sports – the second profession of the doctor” among students of medical and pharmaceutical higher educational institutions of Russia.

Gratitude to the Rector of KSMU from Gomel State Medical University, from Kursk City Hospital No.3, from the Head of Kastorensky district were read out. The Diploma of Metropolitan of Kursk and Rylsk German for works on the organisation and holding of the ХХ anniversary International Znamenskiy Scientific and Educational Readings was awarded to the Vice-Rector for Educational Work, Social Development and Public Relations Kuznetsova Alesya Anatolievna and the Head of the Philosophy Department Kravtsova Elena Sergeevna.

The first question of the Academic Council agenda “Results of medical activity of KSMU employees: realities and perspectives” was addressed by the Vice-rector on medical activity and development of regional health care of KSMU, Associate Professor N.S. Meshcherina.

In the section “Miscellaneous” Rector of KSMU Professor V.A.Lazarenko made a speech with a brief report on his visit to India and participation in the Russian-Indian Educational Summit. All in all, up to 60 Russian universities (6 medical universities among them) and about 2000 Indian universities took part in the event. Important agreements were reached in the sphere of co-operation between KSMU and educational institutions of India, in particular, in the line of secondary professional medical education. “We are an international university, – V.A.Lazarenko summarised, – we are well known in the world!”
