Kursk State Medical University was visited by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares, who together with the Rector of KSMU Professor Victor Lazarenko met with the Governor of the Kursk region Roman Starovoit.

The Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan highly appreciated the level of student training in KSMU and conditions of their stay, stressing that all conditions for sports, comfortable accommodation in dormitory rooms and meals in the university canteen were organized on the territory of the university campus. “I am pleased to be in the Kursk region, I am impressed by the beauty of Kursk. Russia and Brazil have excellent relations in trade, investment, science and education. I talked with students of KSMU, they are satisfied with the quality of education and attitude to them”, Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares noted.

At the same time, Rodrigo Soares expressed concern about the safety of Brazilian students in our border region. Governor Roman Starovoit assured the Ambassador that there were no cases of emergencies in the region, and noted that the introduction of an average response regime does not affect the free movement of foreign students in our country and the Kursk region.

In turn, Rector of KSMU Viktor Lazarenko thanked the Governor for providing law enforcement security in places of mass stay of students (shopping centers, cafes, cinemas, shops, etc.), noting also that the cost of the consumer basket in our region is one of the lowest in the Central Federal District. In addition, Victor Anatolyevich informed that KSMU provides all security measures, there are special premises for shelter in case of emergencies, there is also a sufficient amount of transport, which in case of danger will be used to transfer students to other regions. Taking into account that the overall situation remains calm, the training is carried out in a face-to-face format, it is not necessary to introduce a distance learning format at the present time. The parties agreed to conduct additional briefing on the rules of conduct in case of emergencies for foreign students.
