On June 3, Kursk State Medical University hosted a literary evening “Reading Books About Doctors and Medicine” dedicated to the Medical Worker Day.

The staff of the university library, Center for Creative Development and Additional Education and department of dermatovenerology of KSMU organized the event.

The staff and students performed excerpts from the literary works of Russian poets and prose writers, who reflected the hard work of medical professionals in their writings.

The works of Kursk poets and prose writers were performed at the event: Shekhovtsov Vadim Mikhailovich, Soloshenko Natalia Ivanovna, Anikanova Irina Vladimirovna. Their creativity is multifaceted, but gratitude to medical workers for their hard selfless work runs through all the performances. The participants of the evening listened deeply to the live performances of the writers, in which their life experiences sounded.

Traditionally, participants of the “Door to Summer” Center for Creative Development and the “Asclepion” Theater Studio performed brightly and dynamically. Foreign students took an active part in the literary evening, they read poetry about doctors in Russian.

Kursk Medical University prepairs not only medical personnel. The history of the university is rich in graduates who have devoted themselves to both medicine and writing. Graduates of KSMU presented their creative works: Alexander Olegovich Freidin, Gorelik Oleg Veniaminovich.

The guests of the literary evening got acquainted with the book exhibition “Medicine in Artistic Images”, where books from the library were presented.

The literary evening passed in a warm, friendly atmosphere and created a pre-holiday mood for everyone present.
