On June 6, the birthday of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, international students from the International Medical Institute of KSMU participated in a city celebration dedicated to the great poet. The event, organized by the administration of Kursk, took place at the Pushkin monument and gathered many admirers of his work.

Guests at the celebration recited poems, explored rare editions, created illustrations, and took photos in Pushkin-themed photo zones. Students from the IMI KSMU also showcased their recitations—excerpts from “Ruslan and Lyudmila,” “The Tale of Tsar Saltan,” and “Eugene Onegin.” For many, this experience was their first deep cultural engagement in Russia.

Such events help international students not only improve their language skills but also gain a better understanding of the traditions, values, and cultural heritage of the country. Pushkin Day became a vivid lesson in the Russian soul for them.
