A wonderful and very interesting tour was organized for the new international students of KSMU International Medical Institute to KSMU Anatomical Theater, which houses a huge collection of mummies, skeletons, and exhibits demonstrating the structure of the human body and pathologies of intrauterine development. As soon as they entered the theater, Students attention was drawn to the Latin inscription “Mortui vivos docent”, which translates as “The dead teach the living”.

Assoc. Prof. of L.M. Ryazaeva accompanied the students on a journey into the world of anatomy: she described each exhibit in detail and showed what harmful habits such as smoking, alcohol, and drugs can lead to.

Students were particularly interested in a sculptural composition – a monument to a surgeon in the form of a huge skull consisting of 1.5 thousand instruments from various fields of surgery – medical clamps, retractors, scalpels, pliers, saws, rib cutters, needle holders, hooks, etc.
