On June 2, 2024, about 1000 Indian students participated in the bright presentation of Indian national culture at Kursk State Medical University.
Rector of KSMU Prof. V. A. Lazarenko addressed a welcoming speech to Indian students, congratulating them on the holiday and wishing them excellent grades in the coming session. Victor Anatolievich noted that holding national holidays at Kursk State Medical University has become a good tradition, which unites students from different countries, KSMU is a platform for the development of interethnic dialog.
The event was attended by honorable guests from Sri Lanka, who came to KSMU to participate in the first meeting of the Russian-Lanka University Association of Medical and Allied Sciences: Arambepola Sita Kumari – State Minister of Health of Sri Lanka, Liyanage Janitha Abeywickrema – former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation.
Colorful national costumes, traditional Indian dances aroused strong emotions of the hall. The holiday was dedicated to the history and modernity of the Republic of India. Many vocal and dance compositions were familiar to the audience from famous Bollywood movies.
The atmosphere of the celebration was imbued with a special solemnity, emphasizing the importance of unity on this day. Students received a powerful positive energy charge, applauded vigorously, and at the end of the holiday all together danced to the national music.
