For many centuries Latin language remained the most important means of international cultural and scientific communication. The first European universities taught in this language. Moreover, it harmoniously coexisted with national languages. The centuries-long use of Latin as a means of international communication, contributed to the penetration of Latin vocabulary, word-forming and grammatical elements into European languages and the Russian language. Latin became the basis for the internationalization of science, which led to the creation of a universal scientific terminological fund. Latin and ancient Greek are still the base of the language of the medical profession.

Highlighting the role of Latin as a language of international professional communication was the main focus of the conference.
