On April 29 in Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held the International Conference “Modern problems of oncology and surgery of major localizations: visiting Avicenna”, which was attended by more than 300 face-to-face participants, as well as online participants from 13 countries of the world. The work was held in parallel in 3 halls of the new campus of the University and included 9 sections.
Head of Oncology Department of KSMU Associate Professor Khvostovoy Vladimir Vladimirovich together with Professor from Tashkent Gafur-Akhunov Mirza-Ali Aloyarovich and Professor from Botkin Hospital Titov Konstantin Sergeyevich moderated the section “Panel Discussion: Melanoma and skin cancer, the view of northern and southern latitudes” where he presented a report on “Molecular-genetic disorders in melanoma and their role in determining treatment tactics”, in which he reflected modern views on the problem and the experience of Kursk oncologists. The section was recognized as one of the most interesting and productive in the conference.
Also V.V. Khvostovoy made a report “Long-term and functional oncologic results of thyroid cancer treatment in the regional model” at the section “Thyroid cancer”, where he presented his own results of treatment of patients with a follow-up period of more than 5 years, which was highly appreciated.
