On April 09, 2024, a delegation of Kursk State Medical University headed by Rector Prof. V.A. Lazarenko and Director of International Medical Institute M.T. Shekhine visited KD Medical College, Hospital and Research Center in India. Within the framework of the visit, two working meetings were held with the leadership of the College – Director Professor Ram Ashoka, Heads of Departments and Deputy Chairman of the Research Center Manoj Agarwal. During the meetings the prospects of cooperation, implementation of joint elective courses, types of cooperation in the field of academic mobility and science, issues of training and professional development of the college staff and doctors were discussed. At the meeting with heads of departments Indian colleagues showed interest in realization of programs of advanced training and master classes and expressed their desire to read online lectures for KSMU students on tropical medicine.
During the visit a detailed tour was held around the KD Medical College, Hospital and Research Center and preclinical departments.
According to the results of the meeting Victor Anatolievich invited the Center’s management to make a return visit to KSMU, to evaluate the possibility of advanced training courses.The Indian party proposed to consider the possibility of opening a branch of Indian College in Kursk together with KSMU.It was agreed to conclude a memorandum on cooperation and to continue negotiations within the framework of the voiced issues.
