The new semester opens up new opportunities for numerous participants of the project initiated by the rector of KSMU Professor Viktor Anatolyevich Lazarenko, “School of Surgery: from mentor to successor.” On February 17, another surgical day was held at the Research Institute in the laboratory of experimental surgery and oncology with the participation of students of 3-6 courses, residents of the surgical profile.

The surgical team of KSMU regularly improves its skills, expands the areas of interventions on the operating table: urology, gynecology, maxillofacial, cardiovascular and abdominal surgery, and were able to demonstrate a high level of operational technique. Of course, no surgical intervention is impossible without a competently selected and implemented anesthetic. Students and residents under the guidance of mentors carry out continuous monitoring of vital functions, adjust the anesthesia allowance.

Under the guidance of associate professors Zhabin s.n. and Gromov A.L., young surgeons performed surgical interventions: tracheostomy, catheterization of the central vein, removal of the salivary gland, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, splenectomy from laparotomy access, Boari operation, thoracotomy with closure of the lungcolo wound and heart.

The project “School of Surgery: from mentor to successor” continues to be implemented and successfully solves its most important task – gives the opportunity to transfer the experience of professionals to the younger generation. The project participants are pleased with the opportunities provided and express their gratitude to the leadership of KSMU for the open prospects.
