From 18 to 22 May 2021, Kazan hosted the largest event in the field of mass student sports in Russia – the All-Russian University Sports Festival “ASSC.FEST” 2021, which was attended by more than 2000 participants from 60 regions of the country at the facilities of the XXVII World Summer Student Games. The organizer of the festival is the All-Russian Youth Non-governmental Organization “Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia” together with the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.

“There were many more people wishing to take part in the event this year than last year, and because of this we had to make a tough selection among student sports clubs. Every year we try to do something new and amazing,” said Elena Isinbayeva, Chairperson of the Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia (ASSC of Russia).

According to the results of the qualifying stage, our university in Kazan was represented by men’s and women’s volleyball teams. Competitions were held in three divisions, according to the quantitative criterion of university students of intramural form of study.

The women’s team of KSMU fought in the II division with athletes from Tolyatti, Yoshkar-Ola, Ryazan, Moscow, Tver. Having won an unconditional victory in the group stage, our athletes met with the RyazGMU team in the game for reaching the final, losing in a bitter struggle with a score of 0:2. And in the game for the third place, our team won with a score of 2: 1 over an opponent from Togliatti State University.

Congratulations to the women’s team of KSMU with bronze medals from “ASSC.FEST” Festival  2021. Anastasia Malikova, a student of the medical faculty of Kursk State Medical University, was recognized in the nomination “Best Hitter” of the II division. We congratulate our girls on the third place and wish them further victories. The honor of the university was defended by:
