A solemn meeting dedicated to the 46th graduation of foreign students in “General Medicine” specialty was held on January 31, 2022 in a hybrid format in compliance with all necessary sanitary standards, which allowed parents, friends and relatives of graduates who were abroad to take part in the event.

165 graduates from India, Malaysia, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Thailand received medical diplomas. More than 55% of graduates passed the final state certification with “good” and “excellent” marks.

The event was attended by: Rector of KSMU, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Head of the Department of Surgery of the Institute of Continuing Education, Deputy of the Kursk Regional Duma of the VII convocation, Honorary Citizen of Kursk V.A. Lazarenko; Vice-Rector for Educational Activity and General Affairs, Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatrics of the Institute of Continuing Education, Dr. habil. med., Associate Professor V.P. Gavrilyuk; Director of the International Medical Institute, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor M.T. Chahine; Deputy Director for Educational Activity of IMI, Candidate of Medical Science, Associate Professor A.A. Kryukov; Deputy Director for General Affairs of IMI T.F. Dremina; Deputy Head of the IMI Education Department, Candidate of Medical Science, Associate Professor G.N. Goryainova; staff and students of KSMU.

In his welcoming speech, the rector of KSMU V.A. Lazarenko addressed the graduates as full-fledged colleagues, having congratulated them and their parents on receiving medical diplomas, and wished them to treat their profession responsibly, love patients and study medicine throughout life.

Director of the International Medical Institute Chahine Mohamad Toufic congratulated the graduates with the qualification of “Medical doctor” and wished them successful work in their homeland. Having noted that over the years the students have become one big family, they were united by their Alma Mater. Let this friendship continue beyond the borders of the university that has become the second home for students!

Traditionally, the event ended with taking the oath of a doctor and a musical gift from the rector and graduates of the International Medical Institute of KSMU!
