The solemn meeting dedicated to the 44th graduation ceremony of foreign students in specialty “General Medicine” was conducted on January 25, 2021 in compliance with all the necessary health and safety regulations. 110 graduates from India, Malaysia, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Ghana, Thailand, Ecuador and Jamaica obtained medical degree. All students successfully passed the Final Certifying Examination.

The event was attended by rector of KSMU, honored physician of the Russian Federation, deputy of 4th Kursk Regional Duma, honored citizen of Kursk, head of the Department of Surgical Diseases of Postgraduate Education Division professor V.A. Lazarenko, director of the International Medical Institute associate professor Mohamad Toufic Chahine, deputy director of IMI for educational activity associate professor A.A. Kryukov, deputy director of IMI for general affairs T.F. Dremina, deputy head of Educational Department of IMI associate professor G.N. Goryainoiva.

Rector of KSMU professor V.A. Lazarenko welcomed the graduates. He emphasized that foreign student training have been conducted at KSMU since 1993. 2600 students from 42 countries are currently studying at KSMU. The rector congratulated graduates with getting a medical degree and wished on them to be loyal to their profession, study medicine through the whole life, love their patients as after all – it is the key to patient recovery, and also not to forget their teachers.

Director of the International Medical Institute Mohamad Toufic Chahine and deputy director of IMI for educational activity A.A. Kryukov addressed graduates with parting words.

The active honors student of IMI KSMU Lenzi Filho Jairo Jair addressed the audience on behalf of graduates with words of thanks. Then, students took the Hippocratic Oath in English.
